Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 2, 2025

RatingPlug is committed to protecting your personal information and your right to privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and safeguard your data when you use our services.

1. Our Commitment to Your Privacy

Your trust matters to us. At RatingPlug, we recognize that privacy is fundamental to our relationship with you. This Privacy Policy outlines our practices concerning data collection, processing, and protection as you interact with our Platform, a service designed to connect Business Users with Reviewers for authentic feedback exchange.

By choosing to use RatingPlug, you acknowledge and accept the practices described in this Policy. If any aspect concerns you, we respectfully request that you refrain from using our services.

2. Data We Collect

Information You Provide: When you create an account, you supply us with personal details including your full name, email address, geographic location (city and country), and role-specific information. Business Users provide links to their business profiles on external review platforms, while Reviewers share location coordinates that enable precise task matching within their regions.

Automatically Collected Data: Our systems automatically gather technical information during your Platform visits, including IP addresses, device identifiers, browser types, operating systems, referral sources, and interaction patterns. We employ cookies and similar technologies, including Google Analytics, to understand user behavior and enhance Platform performance.

3. Analytics and Performance Tracking

RatingPlug utilizes Google Analytics to gain insights into Platform usage patterns. This service captures visit frequency, navigation paths, session duration, and referral sources, enabling us to optimize user experience and identify areas for improvement.

Google processes this analytics data on servers located in the United States, evaluating usage patterns to generate comprehensive activity reports. While Google Analytics enhances our understanding of Platform performance, you retain control: install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on to prevent your data from being collected by this service.

4. How Your Information Powers Our Platform

The data we collect serves essential operational functions: maintaining Platform infrastructure, matching Reviewers with geographically relevant campaigns, processing financial transactions, communicating important account updates, and addressing technical issues.

Geographic data plays a particularly crucial role for Reviewers, ensuring campaign assignments align with their physical location and genuine local connections. Additionally, we may aggregate and anonymize data to conduct statistical analyses, improve our services, and inform marketing strategies, always ensuring individual users remain unidentifiable in such aggregated datasets.

5. Data Retention Practices

RatingPlug retains your personal information for twelve (12) months following your last Platform interaction, unless legal obligations mandate longer retention periods. This timeframe balances operational needs with privacy principles.

Following the retention period, we securely delete or anonymize your data, rendering it non-identifiable. Should you request account deletion, we initiate data removal within thirty (30) days, subject only to legally mandated retention requirements for specific categories of information (such as financial records).

6. Information Sharing and Disclosure

RatingPlug does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We engage carefully selected service providers, including payment processors and infrastructure partners, who access your data solely to deliver services on our behalf, always under strict confidentiality obligations.

We may disclose your information when legally required, when necessary to enforce our Terms of Service, or when we believe in good faith that disclosure protects the rights, property, or safety of RatingPlug, our community, or the public interest.

As a marketplace platform, RatingPlug facilitates connections but doesn't control how Business Users or Reviewers subsequently handle shared information. We disclaim responsibility for data practices beyond our direct operational requirements. Privacy concerns involving other users should be addressed directly with those parties.

7. Security Measures

We implement industry-standard security protocols to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These measures include encryption, secure data transmission, access controls, and regular security assessments.

However, we acknowledge that no internet-based system achieves perfect security. While we strive to protect your data using commercially reasonable methods, we cannot guarantee absolute security. You share responsibility by maintaining secure account credentials and promptly reporting suspected unauthorized access.

8. Your Privacy Rights

You possess several rights concerning your personal data: access your information, request corrections to inaccurate data, obtain deletion of your account and associated data, and object to certain processing activities. Contact our support team to exercise these rights.

Users residing in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, or other regions with comprehensive data protection legislation enjoy additional rights under frameworks like the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). These may include data portability rights, restriction of processing, and the ability to lodge complaints with supervisory authorities in your jurisdiction.

9. Cookies and Similar Technologies

RatingPlug employs cookies, small text files stored on your device, to remember preferences, maintain session continuity, analyze usage patterns, and personalize your experience. We use both session cookies (which expire when you close your browser) and persistent cookies (which remain until deleted or expired).

Most browsers allow you to manage cookie preferences through their settings, including options to reject all cookies or receive notifications when cookies are set. Note that disabling cookies may limit certain Platform functionalities and diminish your user experience.

10. Third-Party Services and Links

Our Platform may contain links to external websites or integrate third-party services beyond our control. RatingPlug bears no responsibility for the privacy practices or content of these external resources. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party sites you visit through our Platform.

11. Policy Updates

RatingPlug reserves the right to modify this Privacy Policy to reflect evolving legal requirements, Platform enhancements, or changes in our data practices. Material changes will be communicated through prominent Platform notices or direct email communication.

We recommend reviewing this Privacy Policy periodically to stay informed about how we protect your information. The "Effective Date" at the top of this page indicates when the current version took effect.
